At Omaha Housing Authority we offer:


  • The Omaha Housing Authority pays 80% of the cost of coverage for Medical and Dental.
  • Option between national network and narrow network for medical coverage.
  • Full prescription drug coverage is included in the medical plan.
  • You are eligible for medical, dental and vision the first of the month on/after you start full-time employment.
  • Vision plan is available at the employee’s expense.
  • Life Insurance at no cost to the employee after 4 months of employment. Benefit is 150% of pay.

Retirement and 457 Compensation

  • 414H Plan – employees are eligible after 4 months of employment, employer match up to 5.50%. Employee contributions are always 100% vested.
  • Employees are fully vested after 4 years of continuous service.
  • The plan has a loan provision.
  • Deferred compensation plan available as an additional savings opportunity. (No employer match).

Paid Time Off

  • Omaha Housing Authority offers up to 12 days of vacation (1 day per month) starting on the date of hire.
  • 17 paid holidays, including the employee’s birthday, a floating holiday and a self-care day.
  • Sick leave and other leaves available.
  • Vacation buy-back.
