Board Meetings

The Omaha Housing Authority Board of Commissioners meets on the first Thursday of every month at 8:30 a.m. at OHA’s central office, 1823 Harney Street, unless specified otherwise. When necessary, special meetings of the board may be called for the purpose of transacting business.

The Omaha Housing Authority Executive Office maintains the agendas and minutes for the monthly meetings.

The public is welcome to attend OHA Board of Commissioners meetings. If attending in person, pre-registration is not required.

Below are guidelines for participating in person:

Whenever any person is speaking before the Board, his or her name, address, and the organization, interest, or person he or she represents shall be announced before he or she shall be allowed to speak.

When any person speaking before the Board is, in the opinion of the presiding officer, out of order, the presiding officer may declare said speaker out of order and may direct said speaker to cease and desist addressing the Board on the subject in question.

No document shall be read before the Board of Commissioners unless the person reading the same shall be willing to submit the same to the OHA staff to become part of the Journal Record.

Attendees are expected to be respectful to everyone wishing to speak. Therefore, signs and like materials are strictly prohibited. In addition, clapping, snapping, cheering, and booing or any similar actions that disrupt the decorum of the meeting is prohibited.

If unable to attend in person, there may be a video conference component via Zoom for public participation. It is important to note that zoom is reserved for speaking participants only. To speak on an agenda item through Zoom, email the Executive Office at contactus@ohauthority.org with the following information:

Registrations must be completed by 4:30 P.M. on the Tuesday prior to the meeting date (unless otherwise noted on the agenda).

The Omaha Housing Authority will do their best to accommodate all requests for Zoom participation; however, there is no guarantee of your participation in the meeting via Zoom if all the above information is not finalized by the deadline.
